John  D.  Diederich

Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Director of Fund Administration

John D. Diederich is the Chief Operating Officer and a Managing Director of Royce & Associates, LLC and Vice President of The Royce Funds, for which Royce & Associates serves as investment adviser.  Royce & Associates is also a managing member of Royce Management Company, LLC, general partner to the firm’s partnership portfolios. He is also President of Royce Fund Services, Inc., distributor of The Royce Funds. Mr. Diederich has 20 years of experience in the investment management business.

Mr. Diederich is active with the Investment Company Institute (ICI) and is the former Chairman of the Closed-End Investment Company Committee. He is also a former member of the Executive Committee and President of the Closed-End Fund Association. In addition, he serves on the Board of Governors of the Mutual Fund Education Alliance.

Prior to joining Royce & Associates in 1993, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Fund/Plan Services, Inc., a provider of shareholder, accounting, distribution and administration services to the mutual fund industry from 1986 to 1993. Mr. Diederich also spent 12 years with Price Waterhouse. He graduated in 1973 from Lehigh University.
