Royce Portfolio Manager and Director of International Research, David Nadel, spoke with Leland Montgomery of Seeking Alpha for its 12th piece in Positioning for 2012 series.
Nadel reviewed global small-caps and discussed those sectors and companies where he sees long term opportunity.
While the majority of investors may shun European equities, Nadel points out that "many people incorrectly assume that small-caps are not geographically diversified and pigeonholing for example a European-headquartered company as being 100% dependent on the euro and the European consumer."
The companies in which Nadel invests have revenues generated both inside and outside of Europe, so they are not exclusively tied to the euro or the European consumer.
Mr. Nadel manages Royce Global Value Fund (with Whitney George), Royce European Smaller-Companies Fund (with Chuck Royce), Royce International Smaller-Companies Fund (with Chuck Royce), Royce International Premier Fund, Royce International Micro-Cap Fund and Royce Global Select Fund.
