Money Magazine selects funds for the "Money 70" list based on these criteria: only funds with lower-than-category-average expenses, good stewardship grades from Morningstar, consistent investment strategy and experienced managers are considered. Long-term performance is also considered: to initially qualify for consideration, a fund must have beaten more than half its peers during the prior five years.
