Royce 100 Fund
An article published on January 12, 2011 by AdvisorOne.com reports "S&P Picks 2 Top Mutual Funds Using Stovall's Sector Strategy." One of the two funds was Royce 100 Fund.
According to Joyce Hanson, Associate Editor of AdvisorOne.com, Royce 100 Fund was one of two funds chosen by Standard & Poor's mutual fund team as excellent funds "to invest in based on a recent study by S&P Chief Investment Strategist Sam Stovall."
Ari Bensinger, a member of the S&P mutual fund research team, identified the two funds as heavily exposed to last year's top sectors, and with good long-term track records.
Sam Stovall's theory is that "It's consistent with history that as we emerge from a bear market and a recession, those sectors that were priced to go out of business but didn't tend to do best in the first year of the new bull market."
Chuck Royce is the Lead Portfolio Manager of Royce 100 Fund. Lauren Romeo serves as Portfolio Manager.

Royce 100 Fund invests primarily in micro-cap, small-cap and mid-cap stocks, which may involve considerably more risk than investing in larger-cap stocks. The Fund also invests primarily in a limited number of stocks, which may involve considerably more risk than a less concentrated portfolio because a decline in the value of these stocks would cause the Fund's overall value to decline to a greater degree. (Please see "Primary Risks for Fund Investors" in the prospectus.) The Fund may invest up to 25% of its net assets in foreign securities, which may involve political, economic, currency and other risks not encountered in U.S. investments. (Please see "Investing in International Securities" in the prospectus.) The Russell 2000 is an unmanaged, capitalization-weighted index of domestic small-cap stocks. It measures the performance of the 2,000 smallest publicly traded U.S. companies in the Russell 3000 index. Distributor: Royce Fund Services, Inc.
