In a September 3, 2008 article, SmartMoney reporter Janet Paskin quips that the "geniuses in marketing are not likely to consider launching a 'partial return' or 'nominal return' fund," as she editorializes on the meaning of the name "total return fund." Paskin talks to Managing Director Jack Fockler who acknowledges that mutual fund names can some times be confusing. He discusses Royce Total Return Fund (RYTRX), explaining that it is a small-cap value fund with a "dividend tilt" that could also be considered an "equity income" fund.
