FTAdviser.com, the U.K.-based website for Financial Times, recently asked Portfolio Manager Whitney George for his thoughts on the U.S. small-cap market. Gail Moss wrote an article for the site's "Investment Adviser" section in which Whitney opined that in his view the current bear market has at least two more years to go, but lower stock prices were also offering many exciting purchase opportunities.
Please note that the thoughts concerning recent market movements and future prospects for small-company stocks are solely those of Royce & Associates and, of course, there can be no assurance with regard to future market movements. Smaller-cap stocks may involve considerably more risk than larger-cap stocks. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.
